Davison Collins
Dave taught humanities for a year at the ITESM University in Colima, Mexico,
after completing his M.A. in 2000,. Soon afterwards he discovered the
Costalegre (southern coast of Jalisco, Mexico) and started Immersion
Adventures. With over a decade of guiding internationally he has been a Nature
Consultant for the Discovery Channel, and has served as Coordinator for the
Earthwatch Institute´s Mexican Mangroves and Wildlife program. Recently, Dave
was featured in the Chicago Tribune for the Recycle Costalegre program he
spearheaded in 2005, and in a Washington Post article about La Manzanilla,
Jalisco, where he currently resides. In 2006 he received his Permaculture
Design Certificate from Ecoversity, and in 2007 he founded Tierralegre, a
nonprofit dedicated to protecting the natural resources and biodiversity of
Mexico´s Costalegre. In addition to protecting its marine ecosystems, Tierralegre
lobbies and acts for preservation of Jalisco´s tropical dry forest.

José Antonio Trejo Robles
Tonio, whose passion for protecting marine turtles is unmatched, is a full time
researcher and professor at the University of Guadalajara´s Center for the
Sustainable Development of Coastal Zones, a position he has held for 14 years.
He completed his M.S. at the University of Colima and is currently starting his
Ph.D. at the University of Guadalajara. Tonio brings more than 20 years of
experience to the table working on marine turtle conservation. He has presented
at a number of national and international conferences, published various articles
in scientific journals, and has hosted numerous national and international groups
of students and volunteers. Tonio also serves on the Board of Directors of
Tierralegre and is an active member of the International Sea Turtle Society.
